Proclaiming Christ, edifying the nation, and expanding digital evangelism across CameroonSince 2003, the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) has been using radio as a powerful tool to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, educate the public, and promote the values of truth, compassion, and unity. What began as a vision during a CBC General Session in Bamenda has grown into a vibrant media ministry, touching lives across the nation and beyond.With two fully operational stations—CBC Radio Bamenda (FM 97.2) and CBC Radio Buea (FM 101.9)—the CBC Radio Ministry is a shining example of how media can be used to proclaim God’s Word and strengthen the church, especially in regions where access to in-person ministry may be limited.<h3>A Legacy of Christian Broadcasting</h3>CBC Radio Bamenda was launched in 2003, transmitting from Nkwen Baptist Church. Ten years later, in 2015, CBC Radio Buea was established as a 10th-anniversary fruit of the Bamenda station. These stations have since become strong companions to the population, particularly in the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon.<blockquote>“These Stations broadcast powerful radio sermons, soul-soothing music, and a panoply of edifying Christian programs, which are a blessing to diverse audiences.”</blockquote><h3>Programming That Transforms Lives</h3>The CBC Radio Ministry offers a wide range of programs designed to inform, educate, and inspire listeners. Key content includes:<ul><li>Biblical teaching and preaching</li><li>Devotionals and prayer sessions</li><li>Christian music and choirs</li><li>Youth and children’s programs</li><li>Health, family, and counseling segments</li><li>Educational news and CBC event coverage</li></ul>Whether in the car, at home, or in the market, listeners can hear the truth of God’s Word clearly presented and applied to everyday life.Many testimonies have emerged over the years from people who received encouragement, salvation, or healing simply by tuning in. The stations are especially impactful in reaching those who are housebound, in remote areas, or facing hardship.<h3>Beyond the Microphone: A Vision for Television and Online Media</h3>Recognizing the increasing power of media in today’s digital world, the CBC has a vision to expand its media ministry even further through the launch of a CBC Television Station. While not yet operational, planning and mobilization efforts are ongoing.<blockquote>“We need a Television Station as a demonstration of God’s faithfulness and a testimonial of our growth as one of the leading Christian denominations in Cameroon.”</blockquote>The goals of the CBC TV project include:<ul><li>Strengthening outreach through sound biblical teaching</li><li>Combating false doctrine and promoting doctrinally sound messages</li><li>Giving visibility to CBC ministries, events, and institutions</li><li>Serving as a platform for peacebuilding, community development, and Christian education</li><li>Amplifying CBC’s identity, mission, and history</li></ul>Additionally, the Online Media Unit maintains the official CBC website and social media platforms, sharing daily news, updates, devotionals, and ministry stories to reach a growing digital audience across Cameroon and the global diaspora.<h3>Supporting the Ministry: Equipment and Manpower Needs</h3>To achieve the full vision of CBC media, especially the launch of television and expansion of radio programming, the Department of Communication and Publications is seeking support in three key areas:<ol><li>Equipment – including modern printing machines, audio/video transmitters, studio microphones, professional cameras, computers, and broadcasting tools.</li><li>Personnel – such as trained journalists, technicians, translators, video editors, and graphic designers.
