The world is shaking with wars and rumors of wars. Our text informs us that we always have the help we need made available to us in the person of God in all instances of trouble. A child of God never faces trouble alone. His or her loving heavenly father is always present with him in the midst of that trouble. He provides a safe space in himself for His child, and he provides the strength to endure and survive. The refuge and strength he provides bring peace to the troubled lives and souls of his children. The peace through the strengthening he provides enables us to survive the deepest darkest moments of life. In your current struggles, know that God is with you. Lean on him for strength, trusting that his strength will help you endure.
Reflection
God's presence is a refuge in times of trouble. We can hide in him when we are in trouble. His strength sustains us, and His peace fills us. It is glorious to know that God has provided in Himself the surest and safest place of refuge in times of trouble. He is not only a safe and sure refuge, but is also the source of strength to endure the hardest-hitting trouble for his people.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for being a very present help in times of trouble for your people who live in a sin-broken, troubled world like this one. Help me to remember that You are always with me, even in times of trouble.
