Forgiveness is one of the core teachings of Christianity, but it can be incredibly difficult, especially when the offense happens repeatedly. In those moments, we wonder how much forgiveness is enough. In this passage, Jesus gives a very practical answer to the dilemma of repeated offenses. He says that if someone repents, even if they sin against you seven times in one day and come back saying they are sorry, you must forgive them. This teaches us that forgiveness is not based on a set number of offenses. Instead, it is an ongoing process that reflects the endless grace God extends to us.
Reflection
True forgiveness is not limited by how hurt we feel but by how many times someone offends us. Each time we forgive, we grow in grace and reflect the grace and love of God.
Prayer
Father, help me to forgive without limits, just as You forgive me.
