debt is something someone owes another person. In our context, if someone is called a debtor, it is usually considered in monetary form. Many people can escape financial debts by budgeting and spending within their limits. But this text states a debt Christians owe each other. It is the debt of love. Such love sums up all the commandments of the Bible from the Old to the New Testaments in, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” When believers do this, they fulfill God’s commands. Therefore, loving others is an obligation for believers since it is a debt that can never be completely paid. Let us do our best to pay this debt of love daily to the people around us so that we don’t accumulate it. Christians are not paying this debt only to Christians but to all people created by God.
Reflection
We are all debtors.
Prayer
Ask God to enable you pay your debts daily.
