Yesterday, we saw that forgiveness is revealed in Christ’s sacrifice. Today’s devotion unveils another aspect of forgiveness. Forgiving people is often challenging, especially when the people who hurt us are not seeking repentance. Jesus showed us that forgiveness is not conditional on the other person’s actions. It is about choosing to forgive, even when the offender does not repent. As Jesus hung on the cross, suffering unimaginable pain, He prayed for the very people who were responsible for His crucifixion. He asked God to forgive them, even though they were unaware of the magnitude of their actions. This is a profound example of grace, showing us that forgiveness is not about the offender’s actions but about our willingness to extend grace. Choose to emulate the example of Jesus Christ by forgiving and praying for those who don’t show any remorse.
Reflection
Forgiveness is revealed in Christ’s sacrifice and in His prayer for His enemies. Forgiveness is not about the offender’s actions but about our willingness to extend grace.
Prayer
Father, I thank you for the example of Jesus on the cross. Help me to forgive those who hurt me, just as Christ forgave His enemies.
