The first thing about the character of love is that it is patient. For love to be patient means being slow to be resentful, angered and not becoming easily frustrated. It bears with the short comings of people. Being patient in love is a decision to care for and nurture. Love is kind, kindness in love is demonstrated through generous actions towards others. So for love to be kind, it means to have a genuine desire to do good for others. The emphasis in love being kind is that Christians should treat others in the expression of their gifts with compassion, empathy and understanding. Some people might not understand why you do the things you do in service of God because it is your spiritual gift. Be patient and kind with them in the used of those gifts and it will truly be an expression of love.
