Just as Paul interjected a chapter on love as he was discussing on spiritual gifts, so has he come in with such emphasis in these verse from talking about the gifts of grace. Since the gifts of grace are used in daily relationships, they must be used in love. This is what it means to live a life of love. The apostle begins this by telling the Christians to be sincere in their love. For this love to be sincere, there must be a hatred for what is evil and holding fast to what is good. This means that our whole conduct as believers should be bathed in love. Failure to love our fellow Christians casts doubt on our love for God (1 John 4:19-21). Let us love without hypocrisy (1 Tim 1:5) by having an intense hatred for evil and making this solid by holding to good.

Intentionally seek to uphold godly values.
Prayer
Ask God to create in you a hatred for evil so that you can be a loving person. Pray for CBC: Offer gratitude for those who contribute to the preparation of women's manual lessons and pray for their continued guidance and inspiration.
