Respecting the differences between people is essential for building unity in the body of Christ. We all have different convictions, backgrounds, and perspectives, but respecting these differences is crucial for maintaining peace and love in relationships. Our text teaches us that believers are to accept those with different convictions, especially regarding disputable matters. Whether it’s food, holidays, or other personal choices, Christians should not judge each other but should respect one another’s faith and freedom. This respect allows us to live in harmony despite our differences. Are you respecting the differences in others, especially when it comes to matters of personal conviction, or want everyone to do things, view things, and live exactly like you? That is not Christian love. We are a body with many parts. Each part is intentionally created by God to be different.
Reflection
Respecting the differences in others is a reflection of our love for them and our trust in God’s creation.
Prayer
Lord, help me to accept others as they are and respect the differences that make us unique. Prayer for the CBC: Pray for missionaries serving in Wabane on the account of the CBCMD.
