When someone sins against us, the general tendency is for us to wait for them to come ask for forgiveness. Some of us even expect people to apologize to us and seek reconciliation when we sin against them. Our passage says that when you want to give, first go and be reconciled with your brother who has something against you. Whether the offender is you or not does not matter. When someone has something against you and you know about it, seek reconciliation with them before you pray and read your Bible. The idea is not that you only seek reconciliation before particular events of worship but that since our lives are to be worship at all times, we must seek to be reconciled at all times. Go and reconcile with that persons you are anger with.
