It is common to hear both young and old people say “if you love me prove it.” We also need to prove our love for God and one way is through giving. The love of God received through Christ shows forth in the life of a Christian in their generosity to other people. You cannot claim to love God but are a selfish person. Opening your eyes to the needs of others and meeting those needs is a way of loving God. If your natural inclination is to keep things you know other people need or to have things and not want to share them, then you are not a loving person. Ask God to teach you love by opening your eyes to truly see the generous sacrificing love of Christ for you so that you can love like him. Determine to show love to other people by sharing what you have with them.
