Loving one another in this world seems very difficult as evil is on the increase. People pretend to love whereas their hearts are filled with hatred. But the message of the Scripture is that Christians should love one another. Our love for one another can be visible in how we sacrifice for them, through how we meet them at the point of their material needs. The best way to show that God’s love abides in us is to do those things that speak this love to others around us. Loving only in words is the trends for today. No one is ready to sacrifice for another person. The evil in the society makes it difficult even for people to take the risk of sacrificing for others. But Christians must make the difference by loving even when they feel that others do not deserve their love. For love is the only debts we owe others.
Reflection
True Christian love shines brightest when the world grows darker. Even though selfishness and hatred seem to be on the rise, God calls us to love not just with words but with action—meeting needs, showing kindness, and sacrificing when necessary. Loving others may feel risky or undeserved, yet it is in these moments that God’s love in us becomes most visible. When we choose to love beyond convenience, comfort, or reciprocity, we reflect the heart of Christ and fulfill the one debt we are always meant to owe: the debt of love.
Prayer
Pray God for grace to love sacrificially.
