We have a God in heaven with no one to be compared to Him. The question “Who is a God like you?” points to the uniqueness of the Lord in showing mercy to a sinful people like Israel. His willingness to forgive sins cannot be compared to anyone else. Even when God allows His children to be humiliated because of their sins, His anger does not last forever. So, there is hope for remaining believers to be restored. Perhaps our sins have so separated us from God that we feel there is no coming back. Be reminded, God is ready and willing to show mercy if only you recognize your sins and come to reason with Him (Isaiah 1:18). Don’t be deceived into thinking that God cannot forgive you. Just come, and He will trample your sins underfoot.
Reflection
God shows us mercy and forgives because of his steadfast love for us.
Prayer
Ask God for the courage to come to Him in confession
