Content
Forgiveness is often conditional in human relationships, but not with God. We do not deserve God's forgiveness, but His great mercy compels Him to forgive. In today’s world, we often seek justice and recompense, but God offers mercy, holding back the judgment we deserve. Daniel, in his prayer, acknowledges that the Israelites did not deserve God's forgiveness because of their sins. Instead of appealing to their righteousness, he pleads for God's mercy. He asks God to forgive them because of who God is: merciful and compassionate. God's forgiveness is based not on our righteousness, but on His mercy. God’s forgiveness is a gift. Come to God this day because of his great mercy. Approach Him with all humility and gratitude.
Reflection
God's forgiveness flows from His deep mercy, not from our merit.
Prayer
Father, I come before you today not because I am righteous, but because of your great mercy. Help me to approach you with humility and gratitude for the forgiveness you offer through your love and grace. Prayer for the CBC: Pray for the life, ministry, and Family of Rev.
