Love is seemingly expressed today in many evil ways that keep people wandering whether it could ever be called love. When Scripture says that love is not rude, does not insist on its own way, not irritable or resentful etc., it means that love does not take delight in vices or find expression in things that are hurtful. Such are behaviors that are destructive to relationships at all levels. In bringing these vices in contrast to the beautiful description of the nature and effects of love, the intention was to show the Corinthians that their conduct in many respects was contrary to the way of true Christian love. Without the divine love dwelling in our hearts, we will be manipulative and display arrogance in the name of love. When you start being manipulative and insisting that only your ways stands in relationship, know it is not love.
Reflection
No love will approve evil acts.
Prayer
Ask God to fill your heart with His divine love.
