Forgiving others often means releasing our need for control over the situation. When we choose to forgive, we acknowledge that God is the ultimate judge and is in control. His justice is perfect, and He will act in His own time and way. In Deuteronomy, God promises to avenge wrongdoing in His own timing. This verse reminds us that forgiveness doesn’t mean ignoring the wrong done to us—it means trusting God to handle the justice. When we forgive, we are saying, “God, I trust You to take care of this.” How can trusting God’s timing and perfect justice free you from bitterness and anger? Commit to resting in God’s ability to deal with the situation.
Reflection
Forgiveness requires trusting God to handle the justice, knowing He will act perfectly.
Prayer
Lord, I surrender my desire for revenge and trust in Your perfect justice. Help me to forgive those who have hurt me, knowing that You will deal with all wrongs in Your time.
