Content
Christians are those who have already put on the new self and now they must cloth themselves with dresses that fit that newness in them. The reason for them to put on clothes that identify with their newness is that they are chosen by God, holy and dearly loved. These adjectives used to describe these Christian emphasize the favored position they now enjoyed in Christ. The clothes they are to put on are not physical clothes but virtues that identify them with Christ. The virtues they are to uphold are those qualities, that if present in a community of believers, hatred, frictions and other vices will be eliminated. They are all a manifestation of love. Compassion, kindness, humility and gentleness are essential clothes for Christians with a new self. Let the world identify you as a Christians due to the way you express or live out these virtues.
Reflection
This devotional reminds us that being a Christian is not only about having a transformed heart but also about living out that transformation through our actions and character. Just as we put on clothes that reflect our identity, we are called to “wear” virtues such as compassion, kindness, humility, and gentleness—qualities that reveal our new self in Christ. These virtues are more than moral ideals; they are the visible expression of God’s love working through us, shaping our relationships and communities, and eliminating hatred and friction. As God’s chosen, holy, and dearly loved people, our daily conduct becomes a testimony to the world, showing that the new life in Christ is real and transformative. Living in this way, others can see Christ in us through the way we treat one another.

Trust God for grace to clothe yourself with such virtues that bring light.
