This passage is about one going to a brother who has sinned against him, but the brother refuses to listen, then instead of condemning the brother on that count, he/she takes mediators along. It is important here to note that the passage says it is the offended person going to the offender. The responsibility of the one or two others is to ensure that every charge can be established by the evidence of more people. Most often in a conflict situation, it is the offender who goes seeking forgiveness, but this passage expects the offended to take steps for forgiveness and reconciliation. Have you ever taken steps to go to someone who hurt you to tell him/her about it? Perhaps it ended between you two because he/she was repentant. In a case where the offender did not see reasons to repent, don’t give up take mediators along.
Reflection
The words of two witnesses are more convincing.
Prayer
Ask God to teach you humility and love to take steps to confront one who has sinned against you
