Have you ever sacrificed anything for someone? Why did you do that? Probably because you love him/her. The genuineness of the Macedonian Christians’ love for other Christians is revealed in their willingness to give to help alleviate their suffering. They were also suffering but they truly loved their brothers at Jerusalem which made it easy for them to be willing to forgo their own comfort to provide some relief to their suffering brothers. A willingness to give time, money, etc. for the sake of another, even when it costs us, is evidence of genuine love for them. How many people have you shown love to through giving? Commit yourself to show love today by giving something to someone.
