In many societies, we rely on scales to measure the value of goods, whether it’s for sale, trade, or bartering. However, these scales can often be manipulated to benefit one party over another. Distorted scales are a form of dishonesty that have been historically common in commerce. Today’s devotional is a reminder that God delights in just scales and hates dishonesty in trade. Our text highlights that God values fairness and justice, especially in business transactions. Distorting scales for personal gain is an act of deceit, which violates the principles of righteousness. Are you engaging in honest transactions? When you notice dishonesty in your community, do you stand against it?
